Notes From a Young Black Chef - I attended the book tour talk for Kwame Onwuachi at my local library (this branch had this AMAZING theatre, with stadium seating, I would have never imagined a space like this, and had never been in this part of the building. Yet ANOTHER reason to patronize your new, renovated local libraries) Several takeaways from this young chef about the creative process, the inspiration, the passion and the pressure of running a kitchen. He was funny AF, and shared his real authentic self.
Kwame shared how he navigates the spaces of fine dining, and how his influence allows others to enter the space and be present with comfort.
Best question and answer of the evening for me:
Q:“What’s the difference between a chef and a cook?
A: “A chef is a leader, can inspire others to follow his lead” - 29 year old #kwameonwuachi
